Palki Authentic Indian Restaurant, San Fernando; Trinidad

What do you do when you're craving authentic Indian food in Trinidad? You head over to Palki's .... duh!? lol... Palki's Restaurant took my breath away last night. Now listen, the last time I had authentic Indian food was in Washington DC, how many years ago and once I left the U.S, I basically kissed having access to that cuisine good bye. But lo and behold, Thanks to my very persistent girlfriend Keisha ,  my girlfriends and I decided to check out the restaurant last night and I must say IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. The portions were huge, the staff was friendly and the ambience was superb. I must say I fell in love with the restaurant when I walked in and saw the decor. It was just classy and elegant. But, I fell even harder when  I tasted the food. Ijust have to say Palki's is one of the best kept secrets in South Trinidad, and if ever you are in the San Fernando area and yuh feeling tuh try someting new ... definitely make your way down to Todd Street and check out Palki's Restaurant. Tell dem i send yuh ;D

Zip lining in Chaguaramas and Fetein @ D' Office

I'm literally sitting at my desk nursing a hangover. Thanks to last night's shenanigans ... i'm wearing my shades...indoors ... trying to hide from anything bright and enduring the stares and "ole talk" from my colleagues who want to know ... "Buh wuh going on wid you?". Lol... Let me just say last night's fete/birthday party/reunion was simply (in my Machel voice) E-P-I-C. It's not often me and my classmates (or my Classmates and I for the Grammar Police) come together but when we do ..we ALWAYS have a blast and this weekend was no different. But before i  get into that .....Let's start of with the Ziplining first shall we?

Ziplining at Macqueripe

Macqueripe Beach

Yes, Yes, it's beautiful ain't it ? Let's take it in for a moment . Ok... so I wish I took more pictures of the scenery and the actual building and process we had to go through before actually ziplining, but i had no where to put my phone and I was not about to risk losing, breaking or dropping my Iphone 6. Homie don't play dat... fuh real. But Big ups to Markie for taking pics ...with Keisha's phone! Anyways I thought the staff and management of ZIPIT were remarkably friendly and professional and made sure that we were safe. I was impressed with the technicality of it all and how sanitary they were. I, however, wasn't to pleased signing waivers stating that if anything happened to me while ziplining ... ZIPIT would not be held responsible for my death or injuries ...yeah ..definitely wasn't pleased about that

Right outside the Welcome Center

Gears and Ting

All ready to go!!

This is what we had to climb up to get to the zip lines. I was so scared!
But all in all it was an amazing experience and I definitely would do it again , but in a different Country.Oh while we were there they did say that sometime next year they will be having a new line over the beach, so that should be exciting. But all in all the cost for the Ziplining adventure is $140 TTD and with five lines to zip makes it pretty worth it in my opinion.

Fetein @ D'Office

So we all gathered together last night to celebrate Che's birthday and when I said "WE" ...I mean classmates I hadn't seen in years (emphasis on YEARSSSSS) showed up. Man, I'm so glad I didn't duck them like I planned to. Ha! but yes it was a celebration and being with my old classmates was pretty awesome. Here's to an awesome bunch of kids who grew up and never lost contact with each other.

The Birthday Boy

Just a few of the guys

We had way too much Smirnoff at this point

At this point the night had become a blur

Anyways until the next travels...stay safe...stay blessed !!!Laters!!

Breakfast @ The Clifton Hill Beach Resort

What's up peoples???? So as the longest school term "EVA" comes to a close ... myself and a few of my weary colleagues decided to have an informal end of term "Thank God We Survived" brunch/breakfast meeting at the beautiful Clifton Hill Beach Resort. We thought that after months, of cases and clients and police reports and snotty nosed, bold faced ... but also beautiful children, we NEEDED a relaxing, beautiful event in a relaxing, beautiful atmosphere to just simply R-E-L-A-X! So we headed down to the resort which is located on Guapo Beach aka Clifton Hill beach. (Side Note: I could never get used to calling it Guapo beach. I grew up knowing it as Clifton Hill beach and i'mma die calling it Clifton Hill Beach! ) I'm just saying... but anyways, The resort's relaxing atmosphere and breath-taking view did not disappoint, but what did however was the Brunch!

For TTD $75 ...plus TAX we were given the option of SADA Roti or Fry Bake, pumpkin, bhagi, scrambled egg, saltfish, and cheese. Plus ... we had the option of Fruit Punch, Orange Juice and tea. Are ... you ...serious ? For that option I coulda go by Paskie's or by J's and get the same menu for at least $20 TTD. Come on man ... and to top it off, after we served ourself, like 20 minutes later they closed up shop on us! They came and moved the trays leaving us in awe .. .as to what kinda breakfast brunch/buffet was dis!
I felt disappointed, not only in the food selection, but in how we were left without any kinda dessert option ...not even a pommerac self! Come on man!!! But The Resort is indeed beautiful and i hope you can enjoy the pics below ...until next trip! besos!!!

It's such a beautiful set up and the pool right in the center of the resort is to die for. And while i was there a little birdie told me that soon , visitors will be able to swim in the pool, but there will be a cover charge ...OFF COURSE!

My Selection for $75 TTD

Family Lime

HIiiiiii guysssss, Wuz d scene? I'm trying to be a little more consistent with blogging, as one of my posts was about two years ago :D lol... but seriously... the more i do it, the more i realise i love Blogging. There's something exciting about being able to look back and read about some of the most important moments and events in my life, it's like my own little diary ...but without the lock and key. Speaking of moments, another important moment I want to share with you is a Family Get Together we had .... or in Trini lingo ....Ah Lil Lime nah... in honor of my cousin's visit. My Cousin Pet Pet lives in the U.S.A and we haven't seen her in ages. Like literally! She hasn't visited Trinidad in over a decade ...so when she announced that she was coming "down" we just had to lime ...Trini Style.
Just part of the clan...The Matriarch is in the Center.

Some of the Gals!

With my lil Sunshine <3

Loving my highlight/glow on my cheeks, Thanks Sacha Cosmetics. I'm also digging NYX's Soft matte lip cream in Amsterdam on my lips

This is just a dash of my family by the way, Uncle and Aunts and other cousins are scattered all over the world. So whenever anyone of them comes back home we like to link up and relax. Anyways we ate, we drank , we cried and we had a good time. Moments like these have a way of reminding you that you do need to appreciate every living moment you have , especially with those you hold dear to you. Sorry i don't have more pics, but we were busy eating and drinking maybe next time i'll show off the food and the liquor . :) Until then ....we go link up!:)......Later gators!!! <3

Borough Day 2015

Let me just say this Borough Day was E-P-I-C (Machel Voice) Maybe it was because i went more parties than usual, but maybe it was BECAUSE I partied.

So the first party we went too was SOCA & ICE. Held in the Hills, on the Hills (I could never get that part right) which was basically in Clifton Hill at the Petrotrin Sports Club, this party was niceeee. The ambience was on point and the vibes was nice. Artikal Entertainment is definitely a force to be reckoned with and i can't wait to see what they do next year. Ambience :8 Vibes : 7

Top : Forever 21   Skirt:Asos
Next up was Maui. Now when i heard the venue was the Techier Village panyard, it kind of made me go "Whet?" When you hear Maui, you think beach, sand , sun , not Panyard, But much to my surprise the venue was transformed beautifully and brought the Tropical vibes. Color scheme was a beautiful tealish, sea blue and apparently Lays were being handed out, to bad i didn't get none! There was also free food that i did NOT know about , until like two days after the party when my boyfriend nonchalantly told me about the bake and shark he got for free, from a tent we stood in front of for hours. Really Maui? Next time, doh keep something like dat ah secret nah! All in all Ambience :9 Vibes :7

Next Fete was Breaking Dawn. This fete was held in Gonzales and i thought the venue was a little to small for the crowd it pulled, but the DJ's made sure the vibes were right. Level Soca, mixed with Reggae made sure the Party was ram. Ambience :5 Vibes :9

Top and Body Chain: Awesome Boutique on High Street (when i get the name i'll put it in here)

Pants : Forever 21

Last Fete i went to was the ultimate in Borough Entertainment and vibes and that was :Mawnin Neighbor!! Now let me tell you this party has improved dramatically over the past two years in terms of presentation. The owner utilized his yard space and placed a stage, and cool zone along with other cute little novelties. Vibes :10 Ambience :10.

Anyways, all in all i had a blast. Big ups to man like Esan, Aaron, Ancil, Tammy, Tiffany, Chev, Cherry and off course DK for showing a girl a good Time. Until next Borough Day...ah gorn!

I'm Back ... For the First time

Hey guys!!! Soooo .... I'mmmm baccckkkkkk .... :) Once again ... Yea yea yea I know, i know, where have i been? Trust me ...I've been getting my life together! I got a J-O-B and i actually have a social life again, so I may say I've settled in quite nicely since moving back to Trinidad two years ago.

So between my second post and now... ALOT has happened in my life and i thought it would be fun to keep a record of it . So this ...my third post.... is going to be about my Trip to the great USA!!! Now like i implied...I left the US around two years ago. And man let me tell you... i didn't know how much I missed the US until i walked through the doors at Miami Airport, I felt like i re-entered Civilization.!! No lie, I might get some flack for that but ...that's honestly how i felt!! Anyways, one of the first things i had to do when i came back to "Civilization "  ..was  buy me a ....Sausage Mc Muffin!!

I swear I used to love that meal. As soon as i got off at the Radio Station I used to work at in Missouri ... I had like an hour for breakfast and sometimes i used to head right over to Mickey D's and order me a sausage Mc Muffin cuz it was just so cheap and tasted so good!!! Man...those were the good old days ...and yes... i know McDonald's isn't healthy...but right now i don't care .

Anyways i'm getting ahead of myself, the main purpose of the trip was to attend my Boyfriend's cousin's graduation.
Go Tiffany!!!She graduated with her Juris Doctorate !!!

So we landed in La Guardia around Midnight on Thursday and Friday morning we hit the road to Maryland.

We passed through Delaware and saw some awesome sights.

Four hours and some Rain later...we reached to Maryland!!! The next day we had to trek over to a beautiful church for the Graduation . The Church was huge on the outside and just beautiful on the inside.

But before we got inside, i had to have a mini photo shoot ...off course! I'm big on taking pics... not so much for the aesthetics of it, but more so for the memory keepsake of it.

And off course i had to take a Selfie
After the Graduation, we had the Grad party and after the party we trekked back to BK where i stayed for the rest of my trip. All in all it was pretty fun and eventful! Maybe next time i'll do more tourist stuff like, go to the Statue of Liberty or the Empire State Building or whatever, But anyways, i'm off to get ready for work Tomorrow! My clothes aren't going to iron themselves.!
